Renewal Energy Zone - Central NSW

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone is a transformative and critical energy sector project commissioned by EnergyCo in partnership with joint venture ACEREZ that aims to significantly enhance New South Wales’ energy security and transition to new renewable energy sources as coal-fired generators become uneconomic at the end of their life and are retired.

The CWO REZ is the backbone that connects renewable energy generators and energy storage systems to transmission infrastructure via energy hubs. The project consists of the infrastructure to support the future growth of renewable generation with the CWO REZ corridor – consisting of substations, energy hubs, transmission lines and switching stations
