Northern Beaches - Hospital Road Upgrade

This project involved designing and constructing a series of road upgrades to improve connectivity in the arterial and sub-arterial road network around the Northern Beaches Hospital precinct in Frenchs Forest. Stage 1 delivered key access to the hospital by widening and upgrading several major roads.
Stage 2 introduced the main feature of the project - a 1.3 km open-air, four-lane underpass on Warringah Road that allows motorists to pass beneath the intersections at Forest Way, Hilmer Street, and Wakehurst Parkway, bypassing Frenchs Forest.

Our role at the Northern Beaches Hospital Road Upgrade project was to provide expert advice regarding the geotechnical conditions observed along the length of a stormwater tunnel. Our expert report compared the geotechnical conditions observed in the face of the tunnel during our inspections with the borehole information made available to the tunnelling contractor at the time of tender.

M4 Smart Motorway

The NSW Government allocated $600 million for the M4 Smart Motorway project, incorporating advanced technology along the M4 Motorway from Pitt Street in Parramatta to Mulgoa Road in Penrith.
Witt Consultancy was engaged in the M4 Smart Motorway Project for the following scope, but not limited to:

-Temporary works design, including road plate designs for the installation of DN525 stormwater lines and a twin DN750 stormwater line.
-Review and inspection of bolting for signage gantries.
-Geotechnical construction advice and temporary works design.
-Pavement investigations, including reviewing and providing factual reports.

Sydney Gateway Stages 1 & 3

The Sydney Gateway project connects Sydney Airport and Port Botany to the WestConnex project at St Peters Interchange. Witt Consulting provided a broad range of geotechnical and structural engineering services throughout the duration of this project.

Since 2023, Witt Consulting has been engaged in temporary works related to structural and geotechnical design, investigation, and construction phase services for the M7-M12 project, including: design of temporary retaining structures, geotechnical inspections and construction advice, and structural condition assessments.

Witt Consulting’s contributions demonstrate the value of specialised geotechnical and structural support in delivering critical components of national infrastructure safely and efficiently.

King Georges Road Upgrade

Witt's role in the King Georges Road Upgrade project included a range of engineering and construction support services. This included the temporary works design and structural and geotechnical assessments to ensure the stability of existing structures during construction. Our engineers also carried out site inspections covering excavations, backfilling, bolting, and trenching activities.

Western Harbour Tunnel P2

Witt Consulting contributed to the Western Harbour Tunnel Package 2 project by providing geotechnical inspections, modelling, construction sequence advice for rock face stability assessment and temporary works designs.

Mona Vale Road Upgrade

The Mona Vale East project is a $140 million NSW Government infrastructure project that involves upgrading 3.2 km of road from two lanes to a four-lane divided road to improve safety and traffic efficiency. Georgiou Group is the principal contractor responsible for the delivery of the project, upgrading a vital link between Sydney's North Shore and Northern Beaches.
